From a research carried out by I-Vission
International in five key towns in
Cameroon, we were able to come out with
the conclusion that; social development
and peace are key values in any nation
that aims to raise the standards of
living of the populations, but
unfortunately, this is not the case:
-
Unemployment is very high,
-
Numerous
forms of discriminations
exists between generations
and social classes,
-
More than
80% of the populations are
ignorant about the tools and
language of the time, that
-
is the
Information and
Communication Technologies (
ICTs),
-
Good
governance is still a taboo,
-
Our cyber
space is like a no man’s
land or a no fly zone, the
rate of cyber crime is sky
rocketing,
-
Government is not yet
updated with the ICTs in
managing public affairs,
-
Many
forms of discrimination
still exists so far as the
ICTs are concerned and
policies are yet to be put
in place,
-
Information
is mystified,
-
Citizens
continue to look unto
government for every basic
necessity,
-
Civil
society organizations are
not equipped with the
necessary technology to do
their job…
